Business and Community
The Office of External Relations works to enrich communities by creating opportunities to connect people with the University in various ways. External Relations currently incorporates the following areas:

Business and Government Engagement
The University prides itself on strong links to business, industry and government.

Community Engagement Office
Community collaboration, engagement and partnerships have always been a defining feature of the University of Newcastle.

Public Lectures
This is a free Public Lecture Series for the community.
Presented by local, national and international speakers, the
Lecture Series aims to raise public awareness, promote community engagement and encourage debate on issues of regional and global interest.

Work Integrated Learning
Work-integrated learning is the term used to describe educational activities that integrate theoretical learning with its application in a workplace, profession, career or future employment. WIL is being made available for a broad range of undergraduate programs and can be recognised through assessment and credit.

Alumni Relations
Alumni are people who have graduated from, worked or taught at the University of Newcastle and its antecedent institutions.
The University Alumni Network is made up of dynamic and diverse graduates from those at the height of their careers to brand new graduates starting out.

External Relations
The University of Newcastle is committed to enriching and developing our communities in mutually beneficial ways.
External Relations works to build productive relationships and encourage the engagement of our alumni, and our local, regional, national communities with the University, its staff and its students.
