Jobs at UoN
At the University of Newcastle (UoN) we have a range of jobs available in diverse and varying fields. We provide a rewarding, stimulating and supportive place to work.
Future Workforce Plan
Our Future Workforce Plan, a key foundation of our NeW Directions Strategic Plan, outlines an ambitious program of renewal and investment in how we recruit, induct, develop and support academic and professional staff to have world-class careers.
Our expectation is that academic staff will be research-intensive and deliver high-quality research-integrated learning. They will be networked with colleagues and industries across the globe and may be engaged in knowledge transfer with regional and global communities. In particular, we provide generous support for early career researchers to excel in their respective fields.
We aim to lead the sector in developing the 'next generation' of higher education professional staff who have opportunities to gain experience across a number of areas within UoN, and to build a portfolio of expertise to provide excellent leadership and service, and play an essential role in supporting the delivery of all elements of NeW Directions.
Equity, health and wellbeing
All staff enjoy a distinctive, sector-leading UoN Career Advantage. Our workforce policies and practices are embedded in the principles of equity, diversity and health and wellbeing. We are leaders in Indigenous employment and we provide support for all staff to grow professionally, personally and spiritually. With our career advantage you work in an environment where you can be innovative, excel in what you do and reach your full potential.
As an institution that is making its mark on the global stage, we are characterised by people who are willing to change the status quo and transform their fields of practice. At UoN we search globally for the right person for the job. We offer assistance to ensure immigration and relocation is a smooth process for international candidates.
