JMP Communities Entry List Assessment
To be considered under the CEL an applicant must currently reside in the Hunter New England, Central Coast or Mid-North Coast Local Health District and have resided there for at least five years consecutively or ten years cumulatively. Where appropriate, factors such as schools attended by the applicant (Kindergarten through to Year 12), work experience, work history and a statement from a community leader will be considered.
Non-rural CEL stream
For those who have only resided in MM1 areas you will be required to enter your current home address in your application.
Rural CEL stream
For those who have resided in areas MM2-7 you will be required to list all addresses in chronological order starting with the most recent and working backwards.
Assessment
An applicant's CEL status will be assessed based on information provided in the application. Applicants should note that they will be asked to provide documentation to validate the information provided; for example, a letter from a past school or a letter from a previous employer or other evidence of the current residential address.
CEL supporting documentation must be received by the closing date as specified on the Key Dates page. CEL applications with no supporting documentation or incomplete documentation will be transferred to the standard application pool after the closing date.
The University of Newcastle and the University of New England will classify an individual's background based on the Commonwealth Government's MMM-2019 Classification.
The University of Newcastle and the University of New England will classify a location as being in the HNE, CC or MNC LHD based on information provided by NSW Health.
The University of Newcastle and University of New England reserve the right to check all information provided in support of a CEL application, including contacting schools and referees.
CEL applicants who do not to satisfy the criteria will be advised by email and their applications will be automatically transferred to the standard CSP applicant pool.
Verification of CEL status
All CEL applicants are required to provide a statement in support of their CEL status. This statement needs to be from a local community leader. The purpose of the statement is to validate an applicant's CEL status - it is not a character reference. The statement must include a location where you resided (street address, town, postcode) and the period of residence.
