Biography
Thi Thom Thom Nguyen (Nguyen Thi Thom Thom in Vietnamese) has started her teaching career at Faculty of English Language Teacher Education, ULIS – VNU, Hanoi since late 2001. She got her MA in Applied Linguistics in 2006 and has conducted a number of studies in pragmatics, intercultural communication and discourse analysis. Also, she is interested in Teacher Education. As a Master Trainer in teacher Primary English Language Teaching (PELT) and ELT methodology, she facilitates Vietnamese ELT teachers to stand a better chance of contextually accessing to various effective teaching skills and techniques. Her recent research interests include teacher education, professional development, equity in higher education, intercultural communication and lifelong learning.
At the present, Thi Thom Thom Nguyen is working on her doctoral degree in University of Newcastle, Australia. Her research project focuses on Vietnamese EFL instructors’ professional development in the early 21st century.Keywords

University Lecturer I have been working as a university lecturer at Vietnam National University, Hanoi since 2002. I am in charge of (i) coordinating English courses; (ii) developing curriculum, syllabus and training programs for English majors; and (iii) supervising students' research projects and dissertations. My other roles include (i) mentoring and coaching novice teachers and lectures; and (ii) providing professional development programs for English language teachers across all education levels. |
