Mrs Rebecca Ronan

Rebecca Ronan is an Associate Lecturer in Allied Health at the University of Newcastle's Department of Rural Health (UONDRH), based at the Manning Education Centre (MEC) in Taree, New South Wales. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2006 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy).

Rebecca has extensive clinical experience in acute inpatient and outpatient settings in metropolitan hospitals, in the community, and across the disability and aged care sectors. After transitioning to a rural lifestyle on the Mid North Coast of NSW, she currently works in the Oncology service at Manning Base Hospital in Taree, in an outpatient and community-based role.

Rebecca's professional interests include community-based Occupational Therapy, integrated care across all life stages with a focus on end-of-life care, rural rehabilitation, and post-acute care. She has also completed specialised training in Lymphoedema management and driving assessment and rehabilitation.

Beyond her clinical work, Rebecca enjoys working with students, educators and clinical supervisors within the educational framework of the Department of Rural Health. She enjoys facilitating professional knowledge, skill development, and interprofessional learning opportunities for allied health students across various disciplines and supports Occupational Therapy students in achieving their learning goals as they engage in their clinical placements in a regional setting.
