Career Summary
Biography
Amanda Wells is a PhD candidate at the University of Newcastle, researching the environmental history of citrus growing in the Riverland region of South Australia between 1948 and 1970. Amanda is a 2022-2023 South Australian History Fund Grant Recipient, 2022 Jack Cross Fellow (FSAA), and 2022 Historical Society of South Australia Fellow. Amanda also serves as the HDR Representative for the Australian and Aotearoa NZ Environmental History Network, seeking to encourage and connect scholars of environmental history and environmental humanities to broaden and deepen the scope of our work.
Amanda is based in the Barossa Valley in South Australia, living and working on unceded Ngadjuri Country.
