Recipient of the prestigious CIFAL Newcastle scholarship in 2023. CIFAL is a French acronym for International Training Centers for Local Authorities and Local Leaders. CIFAL is coordinated by the United Nations Training and Research Training (UNITAR) with the common goal of developing and strengthening individual capacities to take actions on sustainable development challenges and to create partnerships across regions. The University of Newcastle is the hub of CIFAL across Asia-Pacific region, and their main focus area are Equity, Indigenous Knowledge, Transformative Education, Global Health and Well-being, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Climate Adaptation and Clean Futures and Sustainable Development Goals. 

Tagimoucia is an Indigenous Fijian woman deeply committed to education and sustainable development. Her experience growing up on her island and encountering sustainable challenges has driven her to undertake research around Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Higher Education Students Perception and Engagement around SDGs.

She is an alumna of The University of the South Pacific, where she completed a Master’s, Postgraduate, and Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Economics.

She has taught for 13 years in higher education in Fiji.
