Career Summary

Biography

Tiffany Tsao received her PhD in English from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009. She was employed at a postdoctoral fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology for one year before moving to Australia in 2011, where she was granted an honorary associateship in the Indonesian Studies Department at the University of Sydney. Currently a lecturer in the School of Humanities and Social Science at Newcastle, her research engages with English and Indonesian literary texts.

Research expertise

My research spans English- and Indonesian-language literature, and my publications so far deal with colonial and postcolonial literary works and historical documents (in both languages) about Indonesia. I am currently writing a book on the transnational aspects of local-color literature from the Indonesian province of East Kalimantan.
