JET, one of the most celebrated rock bands to come out of Australia, has announced an exclusive run of dates this May to mark the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Get Born. Following their successful headline tour which saw the band sell out shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney in September last year, the band will now visit regional cities beginning in Torquay on May 9 before travelling through Tasmania, Western Australia, Queensland and concluding at Newcastle’s Bar On The Hill on June 8.

The venue

Located at the University of Newcastle’s Callaghan Campus, the Bar on the Hill has been an icon of the Hunter region music scene since the 1980’s. A cafe by day, the Bar on the Hill transforms into a thriving bar and live music venue by night. Bar on the Hill undertook a major refurbishment in early 2012.

The Bar has played to host to music legends including Silverchair, Tool, Grinspoon, The Rubens, Pnau, Meg Mack, You Am I, The Whitlams, Jet, Eskimo Joe, The Living End, Regurgitator, Cat Empire & more

The Bar on the Hill caters to all genres of music and performance and can be set to ‘cabaret’ mode or ‘theatre style’ as required. Stand-up comedy, street theatre, DJs, acoustic acts and world music have all featured on the Bar on the Hill calendar.
