Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:
- Be enrolled in 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate B Information Technology, B Computer Science, B Software Engineering, B Computing, B Data Science or B Computer Engineering with the University of Newcastle
- Be enrolled full-time.
- Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.0 or higher.
- Be an Australian citizen.
- Not be the recipient of another University of Newcastle donor-funded or sponsored scholarship concurrently.
Required Documentation
Required documents will be listed on the ‘Your Documents’ page of your application. The application portal accepts PDF only. A maximum of 3 PDF smaller than 5 MB can be added per document type upload field.
- A personal statement (approx. 1 A4 page) outlining your academic achievements, career aspirations in the relevant area of study, and how this scholarship would assist you. This statement will cover all scholarships you are submitting for.
- Up to 3 documents which demonstrate your academic achievement, such as awards and acknowledgements, participation in enrichment and travel programs or internships, academic competitions or challenges, your portfolio and/or cv.
- The application will include a free text question asking you to outline your interest in associated future opportunities with this donor and/or Industry partner.
Benefit
This scholarship is $5,000 for a term of one year provided ongoing eligibility. This scholarship must be taken up in the year for which it is awarded.
The scholarship provides a total benefit of $5,000 to be paid as $2,500 each semester after the relevant census dates (usually in April and September).
The scholarship benefit and number of scholarships awarded may vary and will be determined by the funding available each year.
Selection
Selection will be based on assessment of the scholarship application and any required supporting documents. Applications will be ranked against the criteria and offers made to the applicants who best meet the eligibility criteria.
