Startup Stories - Bliss Cavanagh (Creative Sensory Spaces)

This event was held on Wednesday 6 July 2022

Dr Bliss Cavanagh is the Founder of Creative Sensory Spaces, a business that combines art and health science to create powerful immersive therapeutic environments.

As someone diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, Bliss created her first multi-sensory installation based on her own instinctive response to light, textures, colours and smells that almost completely alleviated her symptoms. Compelled to understand if what she had discovered could benefit others, Bliss embarked on a  PhD and became the first in the world to examine the benefits of sensory rooms for the general population.

Creative Sensory Spaces draw on evidence-based design principals across four disciplines - receptive arts engagement, restorative environmental design, sensory modulation and positive psychology. Bliss’s signature sensory spaces are rapidly growing among the business and corporate sectors, and she curates spaces for hospitals, occupational therapy clinics, schools and disability organisations across Australia.

Join us for Startup Stories to hear Bliss's story of how her venture is supporting the world’s wellbeing, one space at a time.
