Description
This course explores Australian music and the performing arts. Emerging themes, narratives, and traits will be investigated and challenged through case studies, listening examples, media, and publications. Students will undertake research on Australian music and performance within historical, contemporary, indigenous, and international cultural contexts.

On successful completion of the course students will be able to:
1. Evaluate the historical and contemporary landscape of Australian music and performing arts;
2. Critically analyse artistic works, musical scenarios, and underlying principles and concepts prevalent in Australian music;
3. Examine the cultural contexts of Australian music and performance culture.
