NUspace Shuttle

The NUspace shuttle is a free inter-campus service that runs Monday to Friday from 7:10am – 10:15pm between Callaghan and Newcastle City campuses. The shuttle services NUspace and the surrounding buildings before travelling past the Q building and stopping at Marketown before making its' way back to Callaghan.

The shuttle service runs during semester on a 30-minute frequency. During semester break the shuttle will change to a hourly service. Download the myUni app to keep an eye on where the shuttle is in real time!

To use the shuttle, all you need to do is tap your student or staff card at the reader when getting on the bus. Wi-Fi is also available for you to use while travelling.

The best way to track the shuttle and access timetable information is through the myUni app. The Shuttles tile in myUni app will show the current location of the shuttle in real time and you can also see information about connections with other campus shuttles like the station and security shuttles. You can also use the Getting around tile to open up maps to get you where you need to go once you are on campus.

Important information - NUspace shuttle

  • Unless specified all arrival times are estimated. Whilst all efforts have been made travel times may vary depending on traffic conditions. Please arrive ten minutes prior to the departure time to ensure you do not miss your bus service.
  • Departures from the Design bus stop and from NUspace are scheduled departure times. When catching the bus from either of these stops you may have a short delay whilst the bus waits for their designated departure time.
  • The NUspace Shuttle service operates Monday – Friday only and does not operate on weekends. See the Operations schedule for more information on peak and non-peak periods or refer to the timetable in the myUni app (shuttle tile)

NUspace shuttle route

The NUspace shuttle operates Monday - Friday during Semester times to help you get around the Callaghan campus and between Callaghan and City campuses. The shuttle does not operate on weekends, public holidays, University concession days or during semester recess.  The NUspace shuttle buses are tracked in the myUni app and its route is shown in light blue on this map.

Station shuttle route

Travelling between the Warabrook train station and the broader Callaghan campus, this service operates Monday to Friday during Semester between 8.00am to 10.00am and 4.00pm to 6.00pm. The service operates on a continuous loop stopping at Warabrook Train Station (car park 16 - one of the free car parks) and Shortland Union building (carpark 5). This route is shown on this route map.

Campus Loop route (Security shuttle)

The Security shuttle will operate on a continuous loop around Callaghan campus between 8.00am to 4.00pm in semester times. If you miss the NUspace shuttle you could catch the Security shuttle to get around the campus - just walk to one of the shuttle stops, wave at the driver and hop on!

Night service

From 6.30pm up until 1.00am you can call the Callaghan Security shuttle to arrange a pick up. The Night service takes passengers to locations on-campus and nearby suburbs including Jesmond, Shortland, Birmingham Gardens and Waratah West in a 3km radius from campus. For the Security shuttle Night service you can arrange a pick-up by calling 4921 5888 and then pressing '2'. If you want to keep an eye on where the security shuttle is download the myUni app.

Ourimbah campus Security shuttle

A free Security shuttle operates during the semester on the Central Coast campus Monday to Friday from 5.00pm to 10.00pm.

The shuttle departs from the main bus stop on the Loop Road but will come to your location on request. The service also includes drop off and pick up to Ourimbah Railway Station by request.

To arrange a pick up with the Security shuttle please call 4921 5888 and then press '3'.

The shuttle does not operate on weekends, public holidays, University concession days or during semester breaks.

Making travel between our Central Coast campuses easy!

A Gosford shuttle is currently operating under a trial for University students and staff between the University’s Ourimbah campus and the Central Coast Clinical School located at Gosford Hospital.

The Gosford Shuttle will run on Monday to Friday 7:30am-10:30am and 3:30pm-6:30pm.

To use the shuttle, all you need to do is tap your student or staff card at the reader when getting on the bus. Wi-Fi is also available for you to use while travelling.

The best way to track the shuttle and access timetable information is through the myUni app. The 'Shuttles' tile in your myUni app will show the current location of the shuttle in real time as well as the 'Getting Around' tile which helps you find your way to your class.
