What is Take1?
Take 1 is a packaged program offered at different times throughout the year and allows you to take 1 online course and to experience cultural activities offered by the University of Newcastle within the comfort of your own home. It is named as the Take 1 program as it gives you the advantage of sampling a virtual course before you might decide to commit to a full semester with us.
Online courses taught at the University of Newcastle allow you to watch or listen to a recorded lecture giving you the flexibility to listen in at your own time. You will also get a taste of Australia through the virtual cultural activities and interactions that we can ‘deliver’ fresh from Newcastle to your doorstep!

Fees
The 2023 tuition fee for direct students is $2500.
If your home university has an exchange arrangement with the University of Newcastle, please contact your home university Exchange Advisor regarding a tuition waiver for this opportunity.

Studying online means that you will have access to:

The Exchange Program
Students from our exchange partner universities are welcome to study at the University of Newcastle for one or two semesters.
- Nomination from home university required.
- Pay tuition to home university.
The Study Abroad Program
Students from non-exchange partners are welcome to study at the University of Newcastle for one or two semesters.
- No nomination from home university required.
- Pay tuition (study abroad fee) to the University of Newcastle
