Terms and Conditions
Participants are to adhere to the Terms and Conditions of the Young Science Innovators’ Challenge as stated below. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions at any time at its absolute discretion without any further notice, and all Participants to this Competition shall be bound by these amendments. All changes will be posted on this page
1.1.Students from Junior Colleges, Polytechnics, International Schools, and Private Education Institutions from all disciplines in Singapore are eligible to participate in this competition (“Participants”).
1.1.1. Students from Junior Colleges and International Schools would compete under Category 1 and students from Polytechnics and Private Education Institutions would compete under Category 2.
1.2. Participants’ age must be above 17 years as on 1st January 2018.
1.3. Each team may consist of 3 to 5 Participants.
1.4. Proof of student status must be provided upon request.
1.5. Each team must consist of Participants from the same Junior College, International School or Polytechnic. No cross institutions are allowed.
2.1 Participants are required to submit their Proposal in the attached template for registration.
2.2 Submission of Proposal without the template will be considered as disqualified.
2.3 Participants must submit their completed Proposal to the organiser via email address Kavitha.Palaniappan@newcastle.edu.au before the due date of 06 September 2018, Thursday at midnight for registering their proposal.
2.4 Submissions which are incomplete will be deemed void and disqualified from the competition.
2.5 Submissions should be the original work of the Participants, and should demonstrate a significant, innovative, sustainable and scalable technological and social impact in Singapore.
2.6 Participants agree to the use of their personal details and photographs and co-operate with any other requests by the organiser relating to any competition publicity.
2.7 Plagiarised submission will be disqualified.
2.8 The ownership and the Intellectual Property (IP) of the Proposal remain with the Participants.
2.9 The organiser is not responsible for any IP disputes.
3.1 The organiser of the competition reserves the right to disqualify any Participant or Team which is found to have violated the terms and conditions stated herein.
3.2 The organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any point of the competition in line with the overall goal of the competition. Any amendment of the terms and conditions will be notified by the organiser.
