A Memorable "PResent" of 3rd MOU Renewal between UONS and IPRS

The UONS-IPRS Student Chapter held a webinar PResent, on 23 July 2020 to commemorate the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Newcastle (UON Singapore) and the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) for another 3 years. This is the 3rd renewal of the MOU since UONS established the Chapter in 2016 which provides opportunities for students to engage in the wider spectrum of PR and Communications.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sally Chan expressed her gratitude about the renewal of MOU between the two organisations. She congratulated IPRS on their 50th anniversary and indicated that the year 2020 also marks UON’s 55th anniversary. She affirmed that UONS and IPRS will work together to nurture the next generation of professionals for the Public Relations industries in Singapore and the region.

Close to a hundred participants located in various countries joined the webinar with  panelists, Mr Justin Fong, Director of Corporate Communications, Agency of Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) , Ms Lily Lim, Senior Lecturer for Communications Skills, Temasek Polytechnic, and the moderator Ms Nicole Quek, Administration Manager, UONS-IPRS Student Chapter Executive Committee for the session. Public Relations (PR) skills needed in the digital age and PR opportunities arising from COVID-19 were the main topics discussed during the webinar.
