Peer Assisted Study Scheme (PASS)

The Peer Assisted Study Scheme (PASS) is an international program that brings together small groups of students to study a particular course, under the supervision of a senior student who achieved outstanding results in the same course. PASS promotes a relaxed atmosphere with an emphasis on independent learning and study skills. Attending a PASS session is equivalent to three hours' independent study. The PASS scheme is available for difficult first and second year courses. It builds on the PASS program at campuses in Australia.

Duty Tutors Assistance Scheme (DTAS)

The Duty Tutors Assistance Scheme (DTAS) initiative was introduced to assist students who may need extra help with difficult concepts. DTAS is manned by Duty Tutors who are well versed in their subjects, which means that you will get the extra help you need to do well in a course.

DTAS is available only for Engineering and Business students. For more information, you can contact your respective Academic Coordinator:

For Business programs, contact Dr Huong Ha at huong.ha@newcastle.edu.au.

For Engineering programs, contact Dr Hassan Ali at hassan.ali@newcastle.edu.au.
