Terms and Conditions
Participants are to adhere to the Terms and Conditions of the Business Plan Competition as stated below. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions at any time at its absolute discretion without any further notice, and all Participants to this Competition shall be bound by these amendments. All changes will be posted on this page.
1.1 Pre-university students from Colleges, Polytechnics, ITEs and private education institutions from all disciplines in Singapore are eligible to participate in this competition (“Participant”).
1.2 Participant age is between 16 to 35 years old.
1.3 Each team may consist of 2 (two) to 4 (four) Participants.
1.4 Proof of student status and age must be provided upon request.
1.5 Each team must consist of Participants from the same College, Polytechnic, ITE or private education institute. Cross institution teams are not allowed.
2.1 The due date for registration is 15 May 2016, Sunday at midnight.
2.2 Participants must register online via www.newcastle.edu.au/singapore/bpc2016.
3.1 At least one Participant from each team must attend the Briefing Session. However, it is advisable for all Participants who have successfully registered to attend the session.
3.2 Detailed guidelines will be discussed in the Briefing Session. The Briefing Session is scheduled on 20 May 2016, Friday at CPA Australia, 1 Raffles Place, #31-01, One Raffles Place, Singapore 048616 in two sessions: 10.30 a.m to 12.30 a.m and 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m respectively.
3.3 A seminar on “Discovering your Inner Entrepreneur” and “An Entrepreneur's Journey” will be conducted by guest speakers in conjunction with the Briefing Session for respective time slots. Participants may have the opportunity to partake in the Question and Answer segment.
4.1 Participants are required to submit their Business Plan based on the guidelines that have been set.
4.2 Submission of Business Plan without following the guidelines will not be taken into consideration.
4.3 Participants must submit their completed Business Plan in a single file format (preferably PDF) to the Organiser at UONS_Competitions@newcastle.edu.au before the due date on 31 July 2016, Sunday at midnight.
4.4 Submissions which are incomplete will be deemed void and disqualified from the competition.
4.5 Submissions should be the original work of the Participants, and should demonstrate significant, innovative, sustainable and scalable social impact in Singapore.
4.6 Plagiarised submission will be disqualified.
4.7 Finalists must agree to the use of their personal details and photographs, and co-operate with any other requests by the organiser relating to any competition publicity.
4.8 The ownership and the Intellectual Property (IP) of the Business Plan remain with the Participants.
4.9 The Organiser will not be responsible for any IP disputes.
5.1 The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who is found to have violated the Terms and Conditions stated herein.
5.2 The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any point of the competition in line with the overall goal of the competition. Participants will be notified of any amendment of the Terms and Conditions via this page.
