Business Plan Competition 2016

About the Competition

In line with the Singapore’s Smart Nation vision to transform the country for the better through infocommunication and technology, UON Singapore (a wholly-owned entity of the University of Newcastle, Australia) has organised a business plan competition to strengthen the rigour of youths in developing compelling and smart creative concepts and ideas. The competition theme of 'Innovative Entrepreneurship for the 21st Century' is initiated to create opportunities for youths and encourage them to become leaders in their space of interest.

When developing the plan, participants should have the aim of improving the lives of citizens by harnessing technology (and its rise) to the fullest to create stronger communities as part of the Smart Nation vision.

In commemoration of its 10th anniversary this year, UON Singapore is providing a platform to recognise youths’ business ambitions and allow participants to create new networks of friends and contacts. Shortlisted teams will stand to win cash prizes worth up to SGD $7,000.

The competition is to encourage and nurture the entrepreneurial culture among youths between the ages of 16 to 35 years old who are pre-university students from colleges, polytechnics, ITE’s and private education institutions. Shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to showcase/present their inventive plan and/or project during the final event on 3 September 2016, Saturday.
