Having amassed more than two decades of experience in Media and Digital Marketing, Kin has seen the transition of the media landscape from the previously traditional to the current digital one. Being on both sides of the aisle has given him a unique perspective on how things were done in the past and where we are heading in the future. Mastering both media production and strategy, Kin has worked with renowned media agencies and companies like Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, MediaCorp, Nat Geo, Discovery, CNA. Along with multinational companies like DBS, UBS, and AIA. Consulting in their media strategies and crafting their media campaigns.

While still a media practitioner, Kin embraced the world of education in 2006. Having started as an adjunct lecturer in Nanyang Technological University’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communications (NTU), he has found a new passion in imparting his knowledge and experience in the field that he loves. He now enjoys the best of both worlds, fueling his creativity and sharing it with the next generation of media creatives.

Kin is also the program coordinator of the Bachelor of Communication program at the University of Newcastle's Singapore campus.

Abdul Hamid Sultan’s legal career spans 25 years, during which he has handled cases in various areas of law. His legal expertise hence includes Family Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Civil Law, Workers Compensation Claims, Vehicle and Industrial Accident Claims, Insurance Law, Syariah Law etc. He has helmed his own legal firm, A H Sultan & Associates, for the past 16 years. As a strong believer in community service, He has expanded his volunteer work to include legal clinics at the Muslim Converts Association, Jamiyah, and the Al-Istighfar Mosque.He also serves on the National Cancer Centre Medifund Committee and sit in the Legal Aid Bureau panel offering pro bono legal services. He has co-designed and taught the Environmental and Occupational Health Safety course since 2014 under the auspices of the University of Newcastle, Australia. It has been fulfilling to share his knowledge and practical experience with successive cohorts of students.

Carolyn holds a doctorate in Management from the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia. She specialises in ethics, responsible leadership, corporate governance, and sustainable development. She teaches courses related to these fields including CSR and Corporate Governance, Strategic Management, Global Leadership, Asian Management, International Management, Business and Sustainable Development, and Culture and Ethics.

Carolyn is a prolific researcher whose research topics include the development of responsible leadership through employee engagement, the role of context and culture in the enactment of responsible leadership, sustainable development as well as the management of society’s grand challenges. Before her move to academia, Carolyn worked for over 30 years in the design industry and as a management consultant.

Edgar has held various positions in the banking, insurance, and property sectors for more than 30 years. He has worked in Standard Chartered Bank and NTUC Income.

Through his accounting practice, he and his team provided  consultancy services to SMEs from service, retail to manufacturing sectors on strategy, finance, and tax issues across various jurisdictions.

He is an integral facilitator of some merger and acquisition activities.

Helena is an Associate/Conjoint lecturer conducting lectures and research in partnership with the Australian and UK universities and organizations.

She has over 30 years of industry experience in the public and private sectors. Her specialised fields are in the areas of human resource management, knowledge management, and research methods. She was involved in promoting a knowledge-sharing culture, developing learning needs analysis, and effective performance appraisal system in a multicultural organisation.

Helena received her PhD in communication and information studies at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2018, awarded under a four-year full-time scholarship.  She holds a Masters in Knowledge Management from NTU.

Helena’s research interests focus on human capital development, human resources practices, and organisation behaviour.  She believes in practical research, applying the implications of the theoretical knowledge to the real-life organizational context. Her mixed-methods research works have been published in top tier journals such as Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance, and Journal of Documentation.  Her current research projects involve the examination of the role of organisational support in employee commitment and emotion. She is a regular reviewer for Current Psychology journal.

She is an advisor to doctoral students who are industry professionals in change management, flexible work practice, and employee engagement in the workplace.

She is the recipient of Excellent Teaching Award, the Volunteer Service Award and Excellent Service Award for her academic, community voluntary and corporate works.

Irwin is a Chartered Accountant (Singapore) and a Fellow with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He has a broad range of industry experience–a stint with Deloitte, a strategy consultant at Keppel Corp, and leadership roles within deep-tech start-ups.

Graduating with an MSc. in Applied Finance from Singapore Management University (SMU) as the Top Student, Irwin Loh was selected by his professors for the distinct honour of Valedictorian of the SMU’s Post-Graduate Business School. He is also a 7-time book prize winner for the ACCA professional exams.

Having a decade of lecturing experience under his belt, he has garnered a reputation for never making students memorise concepts. He has honed the ability to simplify and guide students to a full understanding of concepts - meaning that they confidently clear the exams!

Short Bio –

Michelle Yeo is currently Course Coordinator and Associate Lecturer, UON, Singapore – since 2017 to current facilitating/lecturing MBA and undergraduate students on Leadership in Contemporary Organization, Leading Organizational Change, Leadership and Ethics and Entrepreneurial and Innovation Diversity.

She is an Associate lecturer conducting lectures and research in partnership with the Singapore, Australian and UK universities. She has more than 25 years as a lecturer/educator teaching in local government schools, at Polytechnics and local Universities. She is an Adjunct lecturer/tutor at National University of Singapore, NUS, teaching Communications and New Media modules. She is also a Faculty member, Associate lecturer and Course leader at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) since 2011 in training, facilitating of new and current associate lecturers in Communication, Public Affairs and Multi-Media Writing. She is into curriculum development of the core communication modules for adult learners and is involved in assessment planning and writing besides the teaching of core communication modules to all working adults; undergraduates.

In addition to her academic and professional training and lecturing roles, Michelle has also designed and taught business communication module under the Continuing and Education Training (CET) programs for the Ministry of Defense team, in 2011 and she is a CET trainer for all educational technology and curriculum for educators with Republic Polytechnic, Singapore.

Dr Michelle Yeo earned her PhD in 2014 specialising in areas of new media digital technology and learning experiences focusing on areas of communication and management using Web 2.0. She obtained her Master of Education in 2007 specializing in leadership, change management and policy and her Bachelor of Arts in 2001 in communication management all from Monash University, Australia. She also holds a Diploma in Education from National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Michelle specializes in Communication management, Leadership, and Change management modules and her research interests is in learning and teaching pedagogies with the leveraging of new media and social media applications; Web 2.0 technologies. She has conducted research and published her papers on higher education students’ learning and communication experiences with Web 2.0 both socially, informally and with the community of learners in fields of leadership and communication.

Mohammed Shakirin graduated from the highly selective Graduate LLB program at the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. Apart from his qualifications in Law, Shakirin has graduated from the London School of Economics with a Master of Science degree in Economic History (Merit). He has also obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of London with a First-Class Honours.

Shakirin handles general legal work, including but not limited to matters involving aspects of commercial and civil disputes, family law practice, crime, conveyancing as well as corporate practice. Before starting practice as a lawyer, Shakirin has taught undergraduates in private institutions in Singapore. In his stint as a lecturer, Shakirin recognizes the importance of ensuring that clients understand complex legal situations they are in. He takes time to hear clients’ concerns and assist them in the best way he can.

He has handled cases in the High Court as lead counsel and attained favourable outcomes for his clients. He has also assisted the Egyptian Embassy in providing representation for their citizens here in Singapore.

Sathi is an experienced litigator with over 22 years of standing in the profession. He obtained his master degree from the University of Indiana specialising in Insurance and Intellectual Property laws. He has also received a master’s degree from the University of Sussex specialising in International Criminal Law.

Sathi’s practice spans a wide range of civil, criminal, and commercial litigation as well as mediation and arbitration matters. Sathi has extensive experience in various insurance litigation work, civil and criminal cases. He has vast expertise in handling High Court and Court of Appeal matters. He has also been regularly involved in general litigation, dispute resolution, corporate work, and medical malpractice.

In addition, he specialises in Employment Law, Work Injury Compensation claims, and Workplace Safety and Health Act having regularly advised and represented major corporations as well as high-net -worth individuals. He is adept at handling complex disputes. He has also acted in shareholder and business disputes, breach of fiduciary duties of Company Directors and fraud claims.

Sathi enjoys handling matters involving expert evidence where court craft can be enjoyed at its best. Sathi is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He also sits on the panel of arbitrators of the Law Society's Arbitration Scheme. He lectures at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and the University of Newcastle, Australia, on topics such as Workplace Safety, Occupational, Health and Safety and Laws.

She has been teaching mathematical and statistical related subjects, with hands-on application of various software to enhance learning and prepare students to keep up with the current fast-paced IT world.

Prior to entering the Education sector, Yee Hwee spent more than ten years managing various assembly product lines in the subcontractor semiconductor manufacturing environment. In addition to driving a manufacturing team in meeting targeted performance in product quality and cost. She was involved in industrial projects where statistical applications using Six Sigma methodology were employed. Having the passion for passing on the knowledge gained, she decided to pursue a career in teaching.

Angelina TU, an adjunct lecturer/tutor in the Bachelor of Communications faculty, is a seasoned communications professional who has worked with many global brands with one common goal: to provide information, solutions to stakeholders via enriching experiences while creating profitability and profile for companies.

Prior to academic teaching, she cut her teeth in corporate communications work such as developing communication strategies that help advance organisations' efforts to catalyze broad impact through the sharing of effective ideas and practices.

She therefore brings more than three decades of strategic communications experience - on both the client and agency sides. This has allowed her to deliver all levels of strategic counsel and training and garner opportunities for even more creative labor.

Her early days spent in creative departments of global names such as Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising gave her the ropes and exposure to smart, creative thinking and instilled in her an unwavering commitment to work excellence and creative brilliance. Felix Cheong is the author of 18 books, including six volumes of poetry, a trilogy of satirical flash fiction, and four children’s picture books. His works have been nominated for the prestigious Frank O’Connor Award and the Singapore Literature Prize. He has three books due to be published in Sept 2020.

Conferred the Young Artist Award for Literature in 2000 by the National Arts Council, he holds a master’s in creative writing. He has been a sessional staff with the University of Newcastle since 2009. Currently, he also teaches part-time with Murdoch University, Curtin University and the National University of Singapore.

Ian Ang is a media director who has worked on game development, television cartoons, broadcast documentaries and interactive design.   Media is Ian’s second nature, starting in school as a freelance cartoonist for the Straits Times, to internet applications in the ‘90s, 3D technologies in the ‘00s, to Virtual Reality in the ‘10s.    His work encompasses both supervision and hands-on production, as well as research and lecturing in these disciplines. In 2019, Ian received an Associate Lecturer Teaching Award.

National medals in football and rugby are stashed away in a bomb shelter. Current hobby alter-egos include the likes of “ianimator” the artist, “ianstrumentalist” the musician, and “ianimal” the nature photographer.

Outside of work and play, Ian has been an avid volunteer in various fields since childhood. When called upon to set up a volunteer class for persons with special needs, Ian began to align his mission to using media engagement and technologies for special needs awareness.

He is also the Director of a Singapore-based incubator for creative professionals and sits on the committee of several youth arts organizations as a media advisor.

Khadijah Seron is an Associate Lecturer and currently teaches in the Communication program for the University of Newcastle’s Singapore campus. She is also a module coordinator.

Previously, she taught Journalism in the Communication program at the University at Buffalo’s Singapore campus and Curtin University’s Singapore campus. She has also taught in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and taught communication courses for Personal Development in Nanyang Polytechnic.

Khadijah worked as a freelance TV producer after she left Mediacorp News as a broadcast journalist. Before that, she was a Public Relations and Publication Executive Officer at a social organization.

Over the years, she has taught courses which include World Issues from a Singapore Perspective, Exploring Contemporary Issues, Features and Storytelling, Communication Ethics, World Media Systems, and Screenwriting for Corporate Documentary.

Robert has over three decades’ experience in Public Relations (PR) and Communication. He heads a boutique, PR agency, Majic Communications, which he founded in 2007, which provides strategic counsel, media relations, issues management, crisis communications consultancy, and editorial support to clients from the public, corporate, and ‘not-for-profit’ sectors.

Robert has developed and conducted well-received specialized in-house workshops in media engagements, media publicity, and crisis communication, for official spokespersons, senior and middle management, and corporate communication teams from various Singapore Government ministries, statutory boards, multinational corporations, and the social service sector. He is an adjunct lecturer for the Civil Service College and several tertiary institutions.
