Swee Yu has conceptualised and implemented numerous strategic enterprise IT projects in his senior IT leadership position in the public sector for over 25 years. As Director of IT of a statutory board, he spearheaded the ISO 9001-9002 implementation and achieved certification for the IT department. Moreover, he established a comprehensive IT Business Continuity Plan. As Chairman of the IT Security Steering Committee, he played a key role in formulating and implementing organisation’s IT policies, standards, and guidelines for better accountability. He had undertaken several IT consultancies in the private sector and enjoys using IT as a key enabler to meet business needs. Swee Yu graduated from the University of Canterbury. He has considerable teaching experience in ICT and business information systems. In addition, he had developed and conducted productivity improvement classes on e-services and e-government to key foreign government delegates under an MFA program. He is currently the program coordinator and adjunct lecturer for the Bachelor of IT Programme of the University of Newcastle in Singapore. He is a certified project manager and serves as a member of the Certified IT Project Manager (CITPM) Board of Assessors at the Singapore Computer Society. |

Cher Yam has had 35 years of work experience spanning private and public sectors in construction and property management domains before his retirement. He has served in numerous capacities over the course of his career, including stints in senior management, consulting, and academia. He has had extensive teaching and academic management experience, having taught and developed curriculum in a local tertiary educational institution. These include crafting syllabi, developing, and teaching built environment-related courses for full time and adult learners. In a senior managerial capacity, he had managed and overseen academic schools and other infrastructural support departments such as IT and Estates and Development, providing him with in-depth knowledge of these sectors. He holds several academic appointments at present, as an Associate Faculty member for SUSS, an Adjunct Lecturer with the University of Newcastle (Singapore) and the Building & Construction Authority Academy, and Chief Trainer for the SISV Certificate in Building Measurement Course. |

Dr Abdul Rahim Leyman is a Teaching Associate at the University of Newcastle. He has twenty years of experience in teaching electronics engineering and mathematics at various universities in Singapore. His research interests are in the areas of statistical signal processing and its application to underwater target estimation and detection, and biomedical engineering in tumor classification work. His interest also includes in the application higher-order statistics to signal processing and designing cumulant estimators. Currently, he is designing a compact noise canceller hardware system for several noise reduction problems. In his free time, he likes to bike. |

Denis graduated with First Class Honours from The University of Surrey (UK) and obtained his master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering (MSc) and Business Administration (MBA) from The National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nottingham Business School (UK), respectively. He has over 27 years of experience in the Academia and Telecommunication industries. Upon graduation from Singapore Polytechnic in 1986, Denis served 6 years with the Republic of Singapore Navy, working on the Navy’s guided missile systems’ maintenance and training.. He then obtained an overseas scholarship from Temasek Polytechnic to pursue his Bachelor's degree in the University of Surrey, UK. After graduation from Surrey in 1993, Denis started his career as a lecturer in Temasek Polytechnic, where he taught in Wireless and Mobile Communications for several years. That eventually led to a position as a Senior Manager in Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), where he worked on 2G and 3G mobile cellular radio network planning and optimization. Denis was also involved in regional training of SingTel’s partner networks, such as AIS (Thailand) and Globe Telecom (Philippines), to share his experience in network planning and optimization. Subsequently, he left Singtel in 1998. His RF Systems Design expertise allowed him to work for a few major telecom equipment manufacturers, and finally for Rosenberger (a German telecommunication manufacturer). His expanding expertise in cellular mobile network allowed him to speak in many conferences worldwide over the years. In recent years, Denis involved in the design of several large-scale inbuilding mobile coverage projects.Notably, the stadiums for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics in Brazil, the Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow, the Hong Kong-Shenzhen High-Speed Underground Rail (where he served as Project Director), the upgrade of the MRT line in Bangkok, and the new Jeddah International Airport. In Singapore, Denis was involved in the design of tunnel coverage for the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) and several other upcoming new and upgrade projects, particularly for 5G. Passinate about teaching, Denis in his free time continues to serve as an adjunct lecturer with the University of Newcastle (Australia), where he taught in several subjects, including Signals and Systems, Digital Communications and RF Design, and supervises final year student projects, in the Bachelor degree programme. He also conducts RF training course and serves as a consultant to private companies and organisations. |

Dr Harnas has more than ten years of experience in civil and environmental engineering. He started his career as a project engineer in a renowned international site investigation company. He performed numerous soil investigation, geotechnical instrumentation, and monitoring works in South-East Asia. He continued his study and specialised in geotechnical problems related to water seepage or flux boundary condition such as rainfall induced slope instability, expansive and collapsing soil, environmental landfill capping etc. He obtained his PhD in civil and environmental engineering in by performing research on application of unsaturated soil mechanics for environmental capping system Currently, he leads the geotechnical and environmental team of Witteveen+Bos in Singapore, working on projects that require both geotechnical and environmental expertise such as building on former landfills, industrial contamination site assessment, and site remediation. He also actively shares his knowledge as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Newcastle, Singapore. |

Ms. Hong Pham started as a Consultant Quantity Surveyor for three years (2007-2010) at Rider Levett Bucknall LLP – one of the three biggest Quantity Surveying companies in Singapore. She handled important projects such as Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort. She continued as a lecturer for three years (2010-2013) at BCA Academy. Diploma courses developed and lectured by her include Building Measurement, Procurement Management, Cost Management, and Value Engineering Management. She also developed and managed the Diploma programme Geospatial Information and Technology (DGIT). Since 2013, she co-founded BRM Strategic LLP – a small Quantity Surveying firm listed in the Public Sector Panel of Consultants. She worked as a managing partner providing quantity surveying services for more than 50 construction projects of various sizes in both the public and private sectors. Since 2013, she has been an adjunct lecturer at BCA Academy and a facilitator at UON Singapore for the courses ARBE3307, ARBE3309, ARBE2309. In 2018, she received a Commendatory Letter from CEO of UON Singapore for achieving excellent Student Feedback on Course scores. |

Dr Joseph Chai is an associate lecturer with the University of Newcastle (UON) Singapore, teaching in the undergraduate degree programs in electrical engineering since 2009. His primary academic interest is in the fields of electronics, embedded systems, and engineering design. In his work in the industry, Dr Chai leads and manages a MedTech manufacturing company specialises in the innovation, development, and the commercialisation of applied medical device technologies used in minimally invasive surgeries and intervention radiology. Dr Chai strongly believes in the foundation of fundamentals in engineering in tandem with the nurturing of practical know-how, and industrial experience for young engineers-to-be at an earliest possible stage in their career. |

Lalit Kumar Verma has diverse experience in engineering and software fields, as well as integration of these two branches of engineering to make a working product. He completed his education in Master of Electronics from Delhi University (year 2002) where he was awarded a university Gold Medal. Then, he completed his PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National University of Singapore (year 2007). The topic of his PhD thesis was to make magnetic nano-structures using nano-sphere lithography. He also attained software skills using Java/C/Swift languages along the way and took entrepreneurship courses in NUS. His work took him around the globe, and he has spent more than six months at a stretch in Taiwan, China, Korea, Germany and the USA. Working with people of different cultures taught him to be flexible, learn, and accept that everyone has their own learning and working styles according to their abilities. His passion is constantly learning, and his philosophy is that we can train all minds, young and old, through a committed plan, by showing them little steps they can take towards their goals. |

Kam Choong is a technical consultant specializing in the application of computational mechanics for solving industrial problems in the defence and commercial sectors. In 1998, he was awarded the Defence Technology Prize for pioneering efforts in the development of Underwater Shock Technology for the Ministry of Defence, Singapore. His core skills include mechanical vibration/shock design, testing and analysis, fluid-structure interactions study, and heat transfer system design and evaluation. Kam Choong enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge through teaching opportunities in applied mathematics and solid mechanics. Lim Chin Guan is an adjunct/associate lecturer and trainer in PSB Academy, Kaplan Higher Education Singapore, BCA Academy, Nanyang Polytechnic, and SMF Centre for Corporate Training since 1999. He obtained his Master of Engineering (Engineering Technology Management) from the University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Mechanical and Production Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He also is an ACTA-certified corporate trainer. Chin Guan has delivered undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the areas of Engineering, Business, and Management for the University of Newcastle (AUS), Coventry University (UK), RMIT University (AUS), Murdoch University (AUS), and the University of South Australia. In his teaching, Chin Guan combines his extensive lecturing experience with his entrepreneurial background and professional industry expertise. He establishes an interactive and fun learning environment wherein students are given the confidence to think analytically and convey their thoughts. He is well-liked and respected by students and peers alike. He has many years of experience in teaching undergraduate engineering level. As a lecturer, he has taught and supervised undergraduate students of engineering and related programs. Matthew has been in in the Building M&E Industry since 1983. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Singapore in 1980. Since then, he had experience in Ship Retrofitting, Building Maintenance, and M&E Consultancy. He was the Chief Engineer at the Imperial Hotel (1983-1985) and Calton Hotel (1985-1990). He was also a Fire Safety Manager when working at Calton Hotel to assist the owner’s Project Manager in all Mechanical & Electrical matters to construct the hotel. He set up and operated the Engineering department, including the opening of the hotel. As a Senior Engineer at Squire Mech Pte Ltd (1990-1995), he was responsible for managing the Mechanical & Electrical Design, Tender Documentation, Construction Project Management of Commercial/Industrial/Residential. He also managed the design, documentation, construction projection management when he worked as a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Meinhardt (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Quek Sze Kheng is previously the Director Investments of Mapletree Logistics Trust Management Ltd., Manager of Mapletree Logistics Trust. His team focuses on sourcing and evaluating suitable assets and opportunities to grow the portfolio, including in markets where MLT does not have a presence. He was previously the General Manager of the Vietnam branch . He also served as the joint head of the New Markets team and was also posted to China to lead as the Head of the Investment team and General Manager of China. Before hisposting to China, he was involved in sourcing and acquiring properties in Singapore and Hong Kong for MLT. Prior to joining as the Manager, he was the Senior Business Development Manager in Ascendas Land (Singapore) Pte Ltd. In that role, he was placed in charge of assessing and evaluating potential acquisitions of properties as well as negotiating and structuring Build-to-Suit and development parks in Singapore, China, and the Philippines. Before this, He was with Jurong International, where his last role was that of Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Suzhou Industrial Park, China. Kheng Teck obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with Honours from NTU, majored in computer engineering. He received the EDB’s Postgraduate Manpower Program Scholarship and was conferred a Master of Science Degree in Communication Software and Networks from NTU. Kheng Teck has more than 16 years of teaching experience, with more than 12 years in teaching degree level, particularly in the area of information technology. He was a recipient of the Teaching Award in several institutions, including PSB Academy. His industry experience is in information technology. Before his conversion to an associate lecturer with a polytechnic, he managed the IT security specialization modules for the Diploma in IT course. Prior to that, he held the position of a network communication manager in a regional shipping firm. He had also gained invaluable experience in various domains of information technology throughout his career, via his roles in a government investment company and a large telecommunications company. |

He taught courses on Civil & Structure Engineering, including design, construction, contract administration, project management, etc. He was the Director of the School of Architecture & the Built Environment from 2010 to 2012, and Director of the School of Communication, Arts & Social Sciences in Singapore Polytechnic. He was a fellow Singapore Concrete Institute from 1996 to 2015 and was the Vice President from 2010 to 2015. Anita Fernandez- Rios has more than 40 years of working experience as an engineer, management system auditor, consultant, trainer, and manager in the fields of environment and occupational health and safety for oil and gas, petrochemical, iron and steel, and copper processing operations, and construction industries in the Asia Pacific region. In the last 12 years, Anita has worked with companies in their legal compliance and sustainability programs. While working as a consultant or in-house engineer, Anita taught part-time with the University of Newcastle, Singapore campus, on environmental control practices and environmental impact assessment. Anita finished her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, the University of Mindanao, Philippines, and took up post-graduate studies in Environmental Engineering at the University of the Philippines, Quezon City, Philippines. Anita is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experiences with organisations and individuals who want to contribute to the improvement of total quality, environment, health and safety performance of the team, the local company, and global operations. |

With over 15 years of professional experience in environmental, occupational health and safety and sustainability (EHS&S), Yen Sen has served more than 80 organizations as a consultant, auditor and trainer. She supports organizations in sustainability reporting, climate change disclosures, compliance audit, due diligence review, and EHS&S related standards such as ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001, ISO14064, ISO16745, GRI Standards and IFC Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability. She integrates EHS&S into business operations with the view that environmental performance, occupational safety and health, and general well-being of workers should and shall contribute to the broader sustainability efforts. Yen Sen’s track record in the EHS&S field spans a wide range of industries which include real estate and property development, facility management, oil and gas, chemical, power plant, pharmaceutical, electronics, aero-engine repair and overhaul, water and wastewater treatment, precision engineering, manufacturing, 3D printing, academic and research institution, military services, warehouse, retail, sports safety, remediation etc. Graduated with a BEng Environmental and MSc Environmental Management, Yen Sen currently lectures part-time at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK), Singapore campus, and University of Newcastle (UON) (Australia), Singapore campus. Dr Chan was a Commonwealth Colombo Plan scholar who graduated with degrees in Veterinary Biology (Merit Honours) and Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (Ist class Honours) from Murdoch University, Western Australia. He returned to Singapore and obtained his PhD in molecular virology and epidemiology of human papillomaviruses at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, National University of Singapore. In 1999 he moved from laboratory research to clinical epidemiology, becoming the Head of Evidence-based Medicine at the National Medical Research Council’s (NMRC) Clinical Trials and Epidemiology Research Unit (CTERU). Subsequently, he held the positions of Head of Biostatistics and Deputy Director. In 2005, he became the Director of the Singapore Centre (Cochrane Singapore) of the Cochrane Collaboration. He also helped to set up the National Registries of Disease Office, serving as the Head of Scientific Management. When CTERU was incorporated and expanded into the Singapore Clinical Research Institute, he served as Head of Epidemiology and is currently the Chief Scientific Officer, overseeing a team of biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and research monitors. He is also an Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School, where he teaches critical appraisal of the clinical research literature, clinical research methodology, evidence synthesis, and systematic reviews. He and his team have organized and taught over 300 clinical research methods workshops locally and abroad. He also serves as a NMRC grant peer reviewer and a committee member for research grant review, research manpower development, and clinical research ethical review. |

Zephan has extensive working experience as an occupational health, safety and environmental consultant to various industries and public organizations in Singapore and the region. He is currently serving as Director of Operations and heads the Occupational Hygiene team with The Institute of Occupational Medicine (Singapore Office). As an accredited trainer with the British Occupational Hygiene Society, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (UK), and The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (UK), Zephan has trained many occupational hygienists and Health and safety professionals in Singapore and the region. He also actively volunteers for various professional associations, including serving as Vice-chairman in the IOSH Singapore branch, executive committee member with The Occupational and Environmental Health Society, and Head of membership committee with the National Safety Council of Singapore. |
