Ulrich Hommel is Full Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance & Accounting at EBS Business School. He heads the Chair of Corporate Finance & Higher Education Finance. Ulrich Hommel holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Dr. Habil in Business Administration from the WHU, Germany.

Professor George Feiger is Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of Aston Business School.

George brings a wealth of experience to Aston Business School with the goal of delivering our 2020 strategy: to be at the forefront of world-class research, to engage with enterprise – locally and globally – and to be the best business school in the world for employability and social mobility.

An ex-Peat Marwick Chartered Accountant with Business Development flair, has over 30+ years of working experience with stints as CEO, CFO and COO of various MNCs, building a regional businesses and in recent years, business transformation roles working turning around companies, digital transformation and representations.

Professor Tony Travaglione was recently been appointed as the interim Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement and Partnerships). Tony brings substantial experience in international education and partnerships to this role, drawn from nearly a decade of leadership as Pro Vice-Chancellor across two universities. As Interim DVC, he will lead the implementation of the Asia Pacific Focus stream of the University’s Looking Ahead 2020-2025 Strategic Plan. Tony will also spearhead the University’s registration as a Private Educational Institution in Singapore, laying the groundwork for Singapore to become a key hub for the University’s education and research in the region.

As Pro Vice-Chancellor of Business and Law from March 2017 until October 2020, Tony has driven key initiatives to further position the Faculty of Business and Law as a quality, industry-engaged Faculty, and to sustainably deliver innovative learning and teaching opportunities. Tony’s leadership has been instrumental to a number of key projects, including the MBA (Global), the Women in Master of Business Administration (WiMBA) Scholarship and the Student Financial Trading room. Tony was recently appointed on the International Advisory Board at the Institute of Management Technology in Dubai and is currently the President of the Australian Business Deans Council, providing leadership to 39 Business Schools, nationwide

Abul Shamsuddin is Professor of Finance and Dean of Newcastle Business School. He received his Masters and PhD from Simon Fraser University, Canada. Abul has served as Assistant Dean, Director of Postgraduate Studies, and Head of the Accounting and Finance Discipline. Abul has held visiting appointments at the Australian National University, Monash University and Simon Fraser University, among others. He is Co-leader of the Centre for Asset Pricing and Corporate Governance Studies.

Abul has published 38 A/A* ranked journal articles. His publications have appeared in Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, International Review of Finance, Financial Review, Energy Economics, Journal of Fixed Income, Emerging Markets Review, Economics Letters, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Accounting and Finance, International Journal of Forecasting, Review of Income and Wealth, Quantitative Finance, Finance Research Letters, and Journal of Development Studies, among others.

Abul has supervised 46 research students, including 24 PhD students.
