Scholarship details


Establishment

This scholarship is available to support students enrolled in an Honours program within the Newcastle Business School. It provides a financial benefit to support study as well as the non-compulsory opportunity to participate in a research learning experience with the Newcastle Business School over the 2019/2020 vacation period.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolling in a Bachelor of Business (Honours), Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in 2020.
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Not have previously received an Honours Vacation Scholarship.

  • A brief statement (around 100 words) outlining your interest in the research activity, intention to study Honours, and future goals and aspirations.

Benefit

The scholarship provides a benefit of $3000, payable following acceptance of the scholarship.

The scholarship holder also has the opportunity to pursue a program of research which will take place in the Newcastle Business School under the supervision of a member of academic staff. Details of attendance, location, and times should be discussed with your academic supervisor within the school. As a general guide, the program will run for around 11 weeks between December 2019 and February 2020.


Selection

Selection shall be based on a brief written expression of interest in the research activity and academic merit, namely Grade Point Average (GPA). Selection shall be approved on the recommendation of the Head of School in consultation with the Director Honours Program, Newcastle Business School.
