The Hunter New England Health Indigenous Scholarship has been created to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands students enrolled in a Health Discipline at the University of Newcastle. This particular scholarship has been established to support a continuing student enrolled with UON in the Bachelor of Medicine (Joint Medical Program).
This scholarship is intended to support and encourage students to pursue a career in the health sector; more specifically, within the Hunter New England Local Health District.
The scholar may be offered non-compulsory vacation work through Hunter New England Local Health District, subject to availability.
Applicable to: ATSI, Indigenous, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islanders, Hunter, New England Residents, Medicine, high achievers.

Two (2) Scholarships will be available in 2017.
The scholarship currently provides a benefit $5,000 per annum for a maximum tenure of (4) years, to be paid to the Scholar by the University as two lump sums of $2,500 after each semester census date.
Applications must be submitted by the due date to be considered.
Selection is a competitive process and will be based on assessment of the scholarship application and any required supporting documents.
