The FEBE High Performing Student Program Scholarship is intended to support students who have previously undertaken an eligible course within the University of Newcastle whilst still studying at school, and who are now commencing as an undergraduate student with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment.

To be eligible, the course must count as credit towards completion of the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment program you are commencing in.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be commencing in an undergraduate program within the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, University of Newcastle.
  • Have achieved a High Distinction ('HD') or Distinction ('D') grade in a UON course as part of the High Performing Student Program, whilst still studying at High School, and which now counts as credit toward the FEBE program you are commencing in.
  • Be enrolled full-time.

The scholarship provides $2000 over the two year duration of the scholarship.

The scholarship benefit will be paid as a lump sum of $1000 following Semester 1 census date in each year of the award.

The number of scholarships available is indicative only - FEBE will aim to support all eligible students if funding allows.


No application is required for this scholarship. The scholarship will be available to all students who meet all criteria.

Successful scholars will be nominated following a review of UAC admission offers in January/February, based on their previous academic results in the High Performing Student Program.

Scholars receiving this scholarship remain eligible for the FEBE Women in Engineering, High Achievers, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Scholarships.

Recipients of the FEBE Excellence in Year 12 or Relocation Scholarships are not eligible for this scholarship.
