Guest Speaker: Dr Trevor Ryan, University of Canberra
Dr Trevor Ryan is an Assistant Professor in the School of Law & Justice at the University of Canberra. He is an expert on legal and welfare systems in Japan and has a special interest in the healthcare implications of ageing populations.
Trevor will share insights on Japanese health system and legal responses to a rapidly ageing population, including the special needs of people with dementia. Our Q&A session will focus on what lessons Australian health and social systems can learn from Japan, especially in light of current NSW and Commonwealth government
inquiries on elder abuse.
