Project 2: Nurse CARE: (Nurse (COVID19) Crisis, Adaption, Resilience and Enhanced Support)

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Central Coast Local Health District and the Digital Mental Health Research Group are collaborating on a Nursing and Midwifery Wellbeing Program to provide ongoing support, feedback and training for staff across the district.

Rhonda WilsonProfessor Rhonda Wilson is Professor of Nursing at the University of Newcastle, Australia and also at Massey University, New Zealand. She is an experienced mental health and digital health researcher, a credentialed Mental Health Nurse and a Registered Nurse. She has published extensively in international journals, book chapters and conference papers and is a member of the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Mental Health Nursing.

Professor Alison HuttonProfessor Alison Hutton is Professor of Nursing at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Her work revolves around young people, health promotion and harm reduction. She has established credible research into strategies to provide safe and supportive environments for young people during events such as outdoor music festivals, sporting tournaments and Schoolies. Professor Hutton is recognised as a world leader in mass gathering health and research. She is the Vice President Special Interests and Activities of the World Association of Disaster Emergency Medicine. She is a member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Mass Gathering Collaborating centre for High Visibility/High Risk Events and is a member of the VIAG (virtual inter-disciplinary advisory group), which is invitation only to mass gathering experts around the globe.


Dr Janene CareyDr Janene Carey is a research associate with skills in interviewing, writing and editing. Her PhD used narrative inquiry to explore how family carers cope with the challenge of caring for a dying loved one at home. She has been employed as a research assistant on a diverse range of projects, including LGBTI ageing, nurse practitioners in aged care, bilingualism in the bush and out-of-field teaching.
