Re-drawing the Economy: Creating Place-Based Images That Can Travel
Associate Professor Jenny Cameron, Professor Katherine Gibson (Western Sydney University, WSU); Dr Stephen Healy (WSU); Professor Wendy Harcourt (International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague)
This project is funded by an Antipode Foundation Scholar-Activist Project Award. It involves researchers, artists and community activists working on images that will communicate economic diversity across a range of cultures. In April 2017, Jenny Cameron facilitated workshops for the project (with Pieta Hyvärinen and Tuomo Alhojärvi). The community activists that attended included those from Botania and Mustarindafrom the east of Finland; Turun kirjakahvila from the West; and Lapinlahden Lähde and Oma Maa from the South. At the same time other workshops were held in South Korea and Colombia. A digital exhibition of outputs from the three projects is in-development.
