Running Shoe Safety & Performance Testing Program

Did you know that University of Newcastle researchers were the first to identify the lack of evidence supporting modern running shoe designs? To address this lack of evidence, we have now established the world's first comprehensive running shoe testing program.

The objective of this program is to provide runners and health professionals with clear information on how different running shoe models affect injury rates and performance. Currently no running shoe brand provides this information to runners.

In 2014 we will be testing the following running shoe models:

  • Hoka One One Bondi
  • Leming Primal
  • Merrell Road Glove & Dash Glove
  • Newton Lightweight Trainer
  • On Cloudrunner
  • Saucony Kinvara
  • Saucony Triumph
  • Saucony Virrata
  • Spira Stinger 2
  • Vibram Fivefingers Seeya
  • Vivobarefoot Evo

If you are a runner and would like to help us test these shoes, you can sign up to become a running shoe tester here .

If you are a running shoe manufacturer or distributor and would like to nominate a shoe for testing, please contact the research team.
