Cardiac Fibrosis (scar tissue formation in the heart) is the final common pathway of every cardiac disease and is an enormous clinical problem with few treatments. This project will study a number of potential candidates for reversing cardiac fibrosis, including small molecules and stem cell therapies. The mechanism by which these can reverse scar formation or digest scar is not known, and our aim is to describe this mechanism and ultimately exploit this for therapeutic gain.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status.
To express your interest, please email your CV together with copies of your undergraduate transcripts and a brief statement of your research interests to Stacey Wilks (Centre Coordinator) firstname.lastname@example.org.
