A list of Clinical Trials Software for University of Newcastle Researchers

Clinical trials software

Clinical Trials software is used to capture and manage clinical trial data.

It allows users to build their own studies, design electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) and conduct a full range of clinical data capture and clinical data management functions.

Clinical Trials Software
Evado has been designed as a light weight web based clinical trial or registry solution for trials and registries of all sizes.

It can be used for any of the following projects: pre-clinical trials, investigator lead trials, phase 1 - 4 or post market surveillance and for patient registries.

Evado has the ability for researchers to design their own eCRF forms hence minimising trial set up costs.Evado software can be hosted internally at your institution or in the cloud. Evado supports both single and multiple trial sites. If patient private data is collected, it is encrypted prior to storage on the database to ensure it is held confidentially and can only be seen by the trial users as the patient trial site. Evado meets the requirements of FDA Part 11 and ICH GCP and health privacy requirements.
While Evado is a commercial software developed to run on a Windows server, the licensing has been designed to meet the needs of researchers and hospitals.

Evado can be licensed on a trial by trial basis for small, medium or large trials.Alternatively an institution can purchase a multi-trial license to run an unlimited number of trials.

Clinical Data Management System
openCDMS is an open source clinical data management system for studies and trials. The philosophy behind openCDMS is to enable clinical researchers to manage the full life cycle of their clinical research project, from design through to archiving, without any specialist knowledge of databases or IT systems.  End User
Open Source for Clinical Research
OpenClinica can be used for collecting and managing clinical trial data. It's ideal if you have a collaborative team of researchers collecting data. OpenClinica takes time to set-up as the configuration is performed through using Case Report Forms (CRFs).

CRFs are spread sheet like definitions that the system uses to generate trials into a web format.Once set-up however the collection of data is straightforward and the reporting capabilities of the system are very good.
