About the Australian-American Fulbright Commission
The Australian-American Fulbright Educational Commission is a non-profit organisation sponsored by the United States and Australian governments. It has a rich history of supporting educational excellence and forging new ground in the area of partnerships and scholarships.
The Commission’s central focus is on developing long-lasting, productive and bilateral relations between Australia and the United States. The Fulbright program is highly prestigious, with scholars and alumni forming invaluable networks both nationally and internationally.
University of Newcastle support
UON is extremely proud of its partnership with the Commission, which closely aligns with NeW Futures and the University’s research and innovation goals of facilitating collaborations on a regional, national and global scale.
To ensure UON will provide our researchers with a competitive edge when applying for a Fulbright Scholarship, the following steps have been established:
1. Application review and feedback
2. Mock interview
The Fulbright application review and feedback will be facilitated by the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation and will be conducted by UON Executive and UON Fulbright alumni. The mock interview process will resemble a Fulbright interview (obligatory if shortlisted) and will provide invaluable experience in preparing the candidate.
Further details of the Fulbright Scholarship categories are available on the Research and Innovation Global Partnerships page.
