ARC Industrial Transformation

Training Centres

The ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centres is a scheme that aims to foster close partnerships between university-based researchers and other research end-users to provide innovative Higher Degree by Research (HDR) and postdoctoral training for the end-user focused research industries. The Training Centre must be within one of the ARC Industrial Transformation Priorities which have been equivalent to the Industry Growth Centres. If an Industrial Transformation Priorities include a medical research-related priority then the ARC may fund medical research under this scheme. The ARC will provide funding for 10 HDR scholarships, 3 post-doctoral fellowships and project costs with the combined ARC budget up to $1M pa. Each application must demonstrate that the combined Cash and In-kind Contributions to the Training Centre are sufficient to support all the research projects described in the Proposal and particularly that of the HDRs and postdocs in the Training Centre. Each Training Centre must involve at least one Partner Organisation from Australia.

This scheme is now offered once a year and the next round is expected to close November/December.

Research Hubs

The ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hubs scheme will provide funding to universities with partners to engage in cutting edge research on new technologies and economic, commercial and social transformation and support the development of research in the Industrial Transformation Priorities. If an Industrial Transformation Priorities include a medical research-related priority then the ARC may fund medical research. The ARC will provide funding from $500k-$1M pa for 3-5 years. The combined Partner Organisation(s) Cash Contribution where any Partner Organisation has more than 100 employees must be at least 75% of the total funding requested from the ARC. Each Hub must include at least one Australian Partner Organisation.

This scheme is now offered once a year and the next round is expected to close November/December.
