Climate Change Law and Policy: Legal Frameworks for the Social Cost of Carbon Dioxide

The successful applicant will work with supervisors to develop a research topic that builds theoretical and applied understandings of the use of cost-benefit analysis in policy assessment. In turn, this research will help to shape legal and policy responses to Climate Change in Australia.
This opportunity will interest applicants who wish to contribute to the inter-disciplinary research collaboration of Dr Elena Aydos (Climate Change law) and Professor Christopher Kellett (Modelling of the Social Cost of Carbon) on the Legal Frameworks for the Social Cost of Carbon Dioxide.
Expressions of interest are sought from applicants wishing to conduct research that unites the following areas of focus:
- Climate Change
- Environmental Law
- Public Policy
- Social Cost of Carbon
PhD Scholarship details
Funding: $27,082 per annum (2018 rate) indexed annually. The living allowance scholarship is for 3.5 years and the tuition fee scholarship is for four years. Scholarships also include up to $1,500 relocation allowance, if applicable.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate with an undergraduate honours degree or a research masters in Law, environmental politics, public policy, or in a related discipline. The successful candidate must be able to commence their PhD before 31 March 2019.
