CM Engage: Engaging Community Managers in Providing Evidence-based Interventions for People with Mental Illness
Closing Date: 30 November 2018
The National Disability Insurance Scheme allows people with physical disabilities to live better lives. Newcastle has been a pilot site for rolling out the NDIS for people with severe mental illnesses. How do Community Managers find evidence-based interventions?
Community Managers in the Hunter have changed roles dramatically in the past 5 years, since the NDIS psychosocial support pilot started here. They've changed staff, vision, mission and measures of productivity. But most importantly, they've changed the services they provide. But how do they find the right services? How do they find the right staff or training? How do they evaluate the effectiveness of their interventions in this new context? You have an exciting opportunity to meet Community Managers, interview them, and discover the dark matter that is community management! This is important work!!
