Mr Geoff Lilliss
Geoff was Managing Director and CEO of one of Australia's significant international manufacturing organisations; Ampcontrol, following an extensive career in Energy Utilities.
His experience includes management of large utility networks, investment programmes, delivery of substantial projects and development of key market alliances.
As Executive GM Network at Energy Australia Geoff led Energy Australia's successful bid for the Australian Government's $100M intelligent electricity network program, he was active on a national and international level leading policy development and industry regulation. He represented the industry in significant negotiations with governments. As a recognised industry leader he presented at the 2010 Grid wise Alliance conference in Washington DC on Smart Networks.
Geoff delivered the largest investment programme in the industry valued at $10.3 billion focused on Network renewal. He was responsible for the efficiency and security of supply for one of the largest participants in the NEM while delivering on energy pricing reform to 1.5 million customers. He was Chief Engineer of Energy Australia.
Geoff was an active member of the International Utility Working Group, headquartered in New York facilitating industry policy development for major utilities on a global basis.
Geoff has held a number of Executive positions including, General Manager Customer Service, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Networks (Chief Engineer) at Orion Energy.
Geoff holds an MBA (Merit), Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Conjoint Professorship and is a member of the Newcastle University Council, and Chairs its Strategic Development Committee. He held the position of Chair of the Energy and Water Ombudsman Scheme and is a committee member of Regional Development Australia.
He is the recipient of a number of awards including being recognised as one of Australia's top 100 most influential Engineers in 2013 and 2014. Geoff is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
