Research NetworkNew Writing Newcastle
NEW Writing Newcastle is a new network of Australian-based scholars and practitioners developed to examine creative writing and creative writing research.
The centre is designed to harness the considerable successes of the creative writing program, from its multi-award winning teachers to the remarkable successes of its alumni, including national awards and commercial publication. With strong links to community organisations and industry, NEW Writing Newcastle aims to serve as a centre for stimulating and encouraging creative writing through the interaction of UoN staff and students and the wider writing community, and to establish and promote pathways for emerging writers.
NEW Writing Newcastle will produce innovative digital humanities research outcomes in the form of comparative stylometric analyses of creative writing HDR theses within Australia, starting with a pilot at UoN and Macquarie University before building to a national study.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
