Health Economics, Development & Logistics
Our research program in Health, Economics and Development aims to study and evaluate individual, organisational and government behaviours towards the improvement of health and development. Using her multi-disciplinary knowledge Dr Janet Dzator works with several co-authors to promote understanding and improvement in health care delivery and consumption. For example, in ‘Health, Emergency facilities and Development’, Janet and her co-authors develop and illustrate how a simple step-by-step (‘do-it-yourself’) mathematical algorithm can help decision makers to effectively locate facilities to serve people and development better.
Dr Richard Oloruntoba investigates logistical issues in the movement of medicines particularly in disaster zones. This is an emerging research priority globally and we are fortunate to have Dr Oloruntoba leading a multidisciplinary unique pilot study, funded by the prestigious Brown University, US.
