Oxy-fuel regulations

At present, one of the limiting factors to the commerical deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies is the lack of regulations covering the process operations and the transport and final storage of CO2. The difficulty for regulators lies in providing safe and effective guidelines and boundaries for technology demonstrators to operate within, whilst also allowing regulatory flexibility to "learn by doing".

This document provides a summary of evolving legislation in different regions of the world. It is provided as a resource to be used in preparation for a workshop involving oxy-fuel demonstrations proponents held on September 7, prior to the IEA Oxy-fuel Conference in Cottbus, Germany on September 8-11, 2009. The document is given in Word format to allow individual editing. Please save the document, prior to activating the hyperlinks.
