Professor Tania Sourdin

Professor Tania Sourdin

Dean of Newcastle Law School

Professor Sourdin was previously the Foundation Chair and Director of the Australian Centre for Justice Innovation (ACJI) at Monash University in Australia. Professor Sourdin has also led national research projects and produced important recommendations for justice reform. In the past two decades, she has conducted qualitative and quantitative research projects into aspects of the justice system systems in 11 Courts and Tribunals and five external dispute resolution schemes. Tania is the author of books, articles, and papers, and has published and presented widely on a range of topics including justice issues, mediation, conflict resolution, collaborative law, artificial intelligence, technology and organisational change.

Professor Jamie Carlson

Professor Jamie Carlson

Assistant Dean, Research and Engagement, Faculty of Business and Law  

Professor Carlson was formerly the head of the Marketing Discipline at the Newcastle Business School, teaching in the areas of Services Marketing and Consumer Behaviour. Jamie is actively engaged in customer experience management research to develop frameworks that improve and optimise the delivery of consumption experiences that are valued by customers. Prior to joining UON, Jamie worked for IBM Global Services in marketing and business consulting.

Emeritus Professor Martin Watts

Emeritus Professor Martin Watts

Emeritus Professor of Economics

Professor Watts is a Research Associate of the Centre of Full Employment and Equity at the University of Newcastle. Previously he was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Monash University. He has had a long-standing commitment to research, and has published 16 book chapters and 52 refereed journal articles, of which 30 are in international refereed journals. Over his career he has established a record of research in macroeconomics and labour economics.
