The Honourable Troy Grant joins the University following a 30 year career of public service in Government, Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Social Justice, community & charity.
Troy served in the New South Wales Police Force for 22 years, achieving the rank of Inspector and holding many roles including major crime investigation, intelligence, community policing, human resource and project management.
Entering the 55th parliament in March 2011 as the 13th elected State Member for Dubbo, Troy held a number of Ministerial positions, and was made Deputy Premier of NSW in 2014. During his time in Parliament, Troy’s portfolio’s spanned Natural Resources, Arts, Justice, Police and Emergency Services, Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Tourism. Troy brings a wealth of experience in public policy to the University of Newcastle.
