Career Summary

Biography

Tenielle Thwaites graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) and University Medal in 2003. She went straight from university into a position as the sole speech pathologist with Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC) in Grafton in 2004. Whilst working as a speech pathologist with ADHC, Tenielle went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) via distance education through the University of Newcastle in 2008. Tenielle is currently working as an associate lecturer two days a week with the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health (based in Coffs Harbour) and 3 days in private practice. The areas of that Tenielle is particularly passionate about are rural and remote health, clinical education, working with adults and children with a disability, speech pathologists working in schools, and innovate service delivery models.
