Biography

Ruth is an Associate Lecturer for the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health (UONDRH) based in Port Macquarie. This role oversees Occupational Therapy student placements in the local area, providing face-to-face support to placement supervisors and students. This position enables her to collaborate with other academic staff to develop and implement interprofessional education and research opportunities.

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) from Charles Sturt University in 2003, Ruth has worked across a wide range of adult rehabilitation settings in both Australia and the United Kingdom.  Ruth completed a postgraduate unit in advanced hand therapy (Monash University) and has since then specialised in stroke rehabilitation with a particular interest in upper-limb recovery.
