Biography

Research:

Honae Cuffe is a PhD candidate in History at the University of Newcastle. Honae's research focuses on Australia's foreign policy tradition from the interwar period until the early Cold War, focusing on the channels pursued by Australia to integrate national interests within the strategic outlooks of both regional powers and powerful friends, and the challenges that have manifest from these relations. She is particularly interested in economics, diplomacy and dominion experiences both in national and international histories.

Honae completed a Bachelor of Arts in History and Politics and International Relations from the University of Newcastle, where she was awarded First Class Honours, the 2015 Provisional Research Scholarship and a Faculty Medal for academic excellence. Honae was the recipient of a 2018 Australian Historical Association/Copyright Agency Travel And Writing Bursary and the Faculty of Education and Arts 2018 HDR Achievement Award.

Honae has also been involved in local and public history projects, speaking and writing on podcasting and public scholarship and providing historical research and writing for the Lambton Public School 150th anniversary book Celebrating 150 years 1865-2015: Lambton Public School (LPS, 2015).
