Career Summary
Biography
I am a practising Histopathologist by training and practice. Throughout my career I have continued to practice as a Staff Specialist in Diagnostic Histopathology in the teaching hospitals with which I have been associated.
I am, by training a General Histopathologist. My special areas of expertise extend to Tropical Pathology, Gastro-intestinal Pathology, Liver Pathology, Renal Pathology and Tumour Pathology. In my special areas of expertise I have provided special and consultative services, not only to the hospital in which I have served, but also to other centres.
By my association with hospital departments, I have encouraged continuing education by introducing and chairing post graduate meetings, seminars and conferences in the Department of Pathology. I have actively encouraged and participated in post graduate professional training of pathology residents and registrars for professional College examinations.
I actively encourage and participate in collaborative professional post graduate training through participation in hospital departmental clinico-pathological conferences with Surgeons, Physicians, Gynaecologists and several specialist groups with these major disciplines.
I am an active member of the Royal College of pathologists of Australasia and regularly present scientific communications at their annual scientific meetings.
I believe that I have contributed to the development of professional excellence in the service Departments of Pathology of the hospital department. I believe this to be a major contribution to improved patient care and involvement in community care.
