Accommodation

While the thought of moving away from your hometown to study might seem daunting, we’re here to make this transition as easy as possible.

The University of Newcastle offer students secure, affordable and comfortable accommodation while studying. Whether it’s on-campus accommodation that you're after or a house off-campus for you and your friends, we have an option that will suit you.

Living on-campus

Living on-campus

If you want to meet lifelong friends, get involved in social activities, and enjoy countless amenities at your fingertips, on-campus accommodation might be for you. And with nine different residences to choose from across our Callaghan and Ourimbah campuses, you’re sure to find an option right for you.

Accommodation options include private or shared rooms and amenities, fully catered, semi-catered or self-catered living. You’ll have access to 24/7 security, a range of facilities, support, a dedicated Health and Wellbeing Coordinator and our exciting ResLife Program.

Living off-campus

Living off-campus

If off-campus accommodation is more suitable either by yourself or with friends, we can help you find the right place.

Our off-campus accommodation service offers free advice to students about shared housing and has a database of current rooms, apartments and houses that are available to rent.

Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways

Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways

The Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways Project (IYMP) is funded through the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). Career Employment Australia (CEA) proudly delivers the IYMP in 7 locations across Australia. IYMP is an innovative project which supports young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from regional and remote communities across the nation to Dream, Learn and Lead.

Indigenous youth are supported to move to an IYMP host location to participate in vocational training, University and Australian Apprenticeships. IYMP helps to identify uniquely suitable education and employment opportunities so Indigenous youth have a positive educational experience and gain the knowledge and skills required to pursue their specific career goals.
