ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID. It is a free, unique, permanent identifier controlled by you that distinguishes you from other researchers. An ORCID can be linked to other Researcher Identifiers like NURO, Scopus Author Identifiers and Web of Science ResearcherIDs to make claiming and attribution of research outputs easier.
To get the most out of your ORCID follow these THREE easy steps:
- Register for an ORCID – login to NURO and follow the prompts to connect your ORCID (if you already have one) or create your ORCID – by registering though NURO you automatically connect your ORCID to your NURO profile.
- Connect your ORCID to other Researcher Identifiers (Scopus Author Identifier, Web of Science ResearcherID).
- Use your ORCID when submitting publications, applying for grants or pop into your email signature or CV.
Instructions for these three easy steps are located on the Library’s ORCID Guide.
