Auchmuty rooftop solar panel installation

Wednesday, 1 August 2018

There may be noise in the Auchmuty Library in the next few weeks to prepare for the installation of rooftop solar panels

Work is underway on the replacement of roofing material to complete the solar panel installation on the Auchmuty Library. There may be intermittent noise throughout this period and  some pedestrian access near the Library may also be impacted due to crane operations in the area so please follow signage and advice at all times.

We apologise for any disturbance or discomfort. Disposable ear plugs are available from the Service Zones in the Auchmuty Library.

You may wish to relocate to the Huxley Library or the Learning space on the ground floor of the Social Science (SR) building for quiet study.

The work forms part of the University's strategy of increased investment in on-site energy efficiency and renewable energy options with the goal of delivering a 20% reduction on CO2 emissions per meter square of gross floor area by 2020 from a 2007 baseline.

The best time to visit the Auchmuty Library for quiet study during this period will be after 6pm weeknights and after 2pm on a Saturday or all day Sunday.  Information about other libraries, spaces, and library opening hours is available on our website.

Help is also available using our chat service or book time with a librarian for an online video session via our Library Live service.
