DiG Festival
The University of Newcastle has become a Platinum Sponsor and Official Innovation Partner of the inaugural 2013 Design, Interactive Technology & Greentech (DiG) Festival, to be held in Newcastle from 2-5 October 2013.
As the leading centre of innovation in the Hunter Region, the University of Newcastle will contribute strongly to the DiG Festival, providing program content, expert speakers and event support.

An established research leader in engineering, energy and resources, health and medicine, design and IT, the University of Newcastle is translating world-class research into innovative commercial products and systems via its commercial arm Newcastle Innovation and the work of its flagship research institutes - the Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER) and the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) - and research groups such as the Tom Farrell Institute for the Environment.
The Tom Farrell Institute at the University of Newcastle will showcase the latest global research into sustainable transport solutions, including developments in electric vehicle technology.
University experts will also showcase the most advanced thinking available in the areas of interactive education, robotics, solar paint, and the technical design innovations behind the popular Watt Street night time spectacle, City Evolutions.
"The University of Newcastle support has also enabled us to release special student pricing for the two day event, which will make it accessible and affordable for some of the region's brightest young minds," said DiG Festival organiser Craig Wilson.
The student rate will be $99, a discount of $300 off the adult rate for the two-day event.
