Central Coast Open Day
Explore your local world-class university at Central Coast Open Day this Saturday
Future students and their families on the Central Coast will have a chance to explore their local world-class university this Saturday at the University of Newcastle Central Coast campus.
The annual Open Day provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about the wide range of degrees and courses offered locally.
Open Day visitors can speak face-to-face with staff and students, attend presentations, tour campus facilities and explore interactive displays and demonstrations, while gaining an experience of what life at a world-class university is all about.
"We're proud of the fact that we are in the top 3 per centof universities in the world, according to two global independent ranking authorities*. This means out of more than 9,000 universities in the world we are in the top 300," University of Newcastle Associate Director Tertiary and Regional Partnerships, Linda Cooper, said.
"These rankings highlight our strengths and research outcomes, the quality of our staff, the employability of our graduates and our international networks. They reflect the key pillars of what makes a world-class university in today's landscape."
Ms Cooper said the University offers a wide range of programs at the Central Coast campus, including 16 undergraduate degrees and two double degrees. The University offers four degrees unique to the Central Coast campus including Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, Bachelor of Oral Health, Bachelor of Food Science and Human Nutrition and Bachelor of Podiatry.
"Whether you are coming straight out of high school and are not sure of what you want to do, or are thinking about a change of career, the University of Newcastle can help with all your queries. At our Central Coast Open Day you can attend careers presentations where you will hear about the factors to consider when deciding on a degree. Staff and students will also be on hand to offer tailored advice about where a degree could take you."
The Central Coast Open Day will be held on Saturday 17 August between 10am and 3pm at the University of Newcastle's Central Coast Campus, Chittaway Road Ourimbah. Great food, music and entertainment will also be on offer.
